Impala is for those who love to skate, whether it’s at the beach, through the local streets, at a rink or in the skate park. Our range of smaller roller skates and smaller inline skates that accommodate for kids are a nostalgic throwback to the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s – bringing back the yesteryears of skate for all generations!

Our recreational small sized skates are made to be adjustable, comfortable and safe for all experience levels. With ready-to-wear boots and secure laces – our smaller sized roller skates & inline skates are perfect for kids when they are just getting started!

True-to-Size Roller Skates

We understand that getting your size right is important – especially when you’re just starting out! Our roller skates run true-to-size – so we recommend choosing your kid's usual US women's shoe size for the perfect snug fit (for half sizes we recommend going a full-size up! For example, if you are a 5.5, buy a size 6). For more information on sizing, check out our roller skates & inline skates size chart, or feel free to reach out to our friendly customer service team.

Kid's Skates - FAQ's

At what age can kids use roller skates?

With close enough supervision and protective equipment, there’s no age limit on having fun on a pair of kid's roller skates! At Impala, we make select colors and styles of our kid's quad skates available in an extended size range that stretches down to US women’s size 1.

Are Impala skates good for beginners?

Impala kid's roller skates and kid's inline skates are perfect for beginners just starting out. We make our skates with quality components that are made to last well through the learning process and into intermediate skating. Aluminum baseplates, durable but grippy 58mm 82A durometer nylon core urethane wheels, ABEC-7 bearings and a padded collar and tongue make for a comfortable ride that’s perfect for learning.

Is inline skating or roller skating easier to learn for kids?

Both roller skating and inline skating take time to learn. But we find that learning on quad roller skates is a little bit easier for children. The wider and square base under each foot can help keep our child’s feet and ankles steady and make it easier to learn at slower and safer speeds.
